Reflection
The promise of “God with us” finds its fulfilment in Jesus Christ — Emmanuel — who did not merely walk among us, but made a way for God to dwell within us.
Through His death and resurrection, Jesus cleansed us and made us holy temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). God’s presence is no longer confined to a place or building, but now dwells within His people by His Spirit. The same God who once met His people in tabernacles and temples has chosen to make His home in us.
Jesus also promised that whoever believes in Him would have “rivers of living water” flowing from within them (John 7:38). This indwelling Spirit brings life and renewal to the believer, and overflows as a source of blessing to others — quietly drawing hearts toward God.
Pause and consider the wonder of this truth: the God who came near in Christ now lives within His people. As we walk with Him today, may His life flow through us — faithfully and generously — for the sake of the world around us.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for coming near and for making a way for God to dwell within us. Fill us afresh with Your Spirit, and let Your life flow through us so that others may see Your grace and be drawn to You. Amen.
