We often feel pulled forward into tomorrow — its questions, its uncertainties, its imagined outcomes. Yet Scripture repeatedly draws us back to today, not because tomorrow does not matter, but because God has already gone there. The strength He gives us is not stored up in advance; it is given daily, moment by moment, as we learn to trust Him where we are.

Reflection
Worry promises control, but delivers only fatigue. It borrows from a future we have not yet reached and asks today to carry more than it was designed to hold. God does not deny the reality of tomorrow — He simply asks us not to live there ahead of time. Jesus does not forbid planning or preparation, but He gently redirects our trust — away from imagined futures and back into the care of God today.
Today is enough. Not because it contains everything we hope for, but because it is where God is with us. I have often felt this weight myself — facing demanding work deadlines, lying awake trying to solve problems in my own strength. I’ve found that it is often only when I finally bring those tasks to God in prayer that the noise of worry begins to quieten. At times, clarity has come — sometimes through an unexpected insight and sometimes through the help of others. As we receive this day as it is — with its challenges and possibilities — we discover that God’s grace is not waiting for us in the future, but meeting us here. This is where faith and trust are practiced, and where God’s presence is given.
As we commit our plans and hopes to Him, we are freed to live attentively — open to what God is doing now, confident that tomorrow is already held in faithful hands.
Confidence for tomorrow is not found in knowing what will happen, but in knowing Who is already there.
Prayer
Faithful God,
Thank You that You meet me in this day with all I need. Teach me to entrust tomorrow to You, and to receive the grace You offer me now. Help me to walk in trust, not fear, resting in Your presence today. Teach me to live this day fully, attentive to what You are doing now.
Amen.
